Encounter with Dalai Lama

29.04.2019

An hour ago I was walking with a friend near the Danube in Zemun, Serbia. Long colorful pants, gray shirt and sunglasses - that's how I looked like. At one moment I see a men, obviously of Asian origin. As I was going to say to my friend that the man is dressed like Dalai Lama he approaches me. He makes a bow, gives me his hand and starts talking something in a language I don't understand. He holds my hand for a few seconds while he is saying something, and in a short moment of time I feel rush of a positive, unbelievable calming energy. With his other hand he is taking from his pocket this colorful bracelet (from the picture) and puts it on my hand. Confused, I ask him does he want money, and he reacts by showing his fingers and repeating this word "money", as if he wants it. I'm taking out some small amount of money that I had and give it to him. Saying thank you, he says it back to me and walks away.

I'm not religious, I'm not totally an atheist neither, Buddhism has always seemed interesting to me. My friend says it's a way to take the money out of people, and even though if might be bracelet is colorful, made out of wood, so natural, and I like it. And it's probably worth more than I gave him. Just that moment was worth a lot more. I'm coming home and tell a story to my parents.

I'm saying the titled sentence, and my dad says  that he also saw him the other day from his car, while that man was crossing the street. Dalai Lama stopped a bit frightened at first, looked left then right, my dad stopped the car and after that he smiled, put his hands together in front of his body and bows. I'm thinking it's only left that my mom sees him in a few days and I'll think that there's some bigger force in all of this! And when you are agnostic, the beauty is that you are ready to believe in anything. LOVE IS MY RELIGION, and every act made with love is worth talking about it!
